Join the discussionThat looks so yummy, and my son would love it (he’s allergic to beef, so can’t have “normal” chili). Do you think the OJ is essential? It’s not something I normally have on hand, and I hate to buy things for just one recipe.
I think the oj can be skipped, if needed, but I do like how it enhances the sweetness of the sweet potatoes. Replace with broth or water. If you keep it on hand, you could keep concentrated frozen in the freezer, scoop out what you need (remembering it is concentrated and add water) then keep the rest in the freezer for when you need it again. It works like a charm! Hope that helps!
I’m hoping that you’re going to include this in the November menu! I have too much food still to even think about making it right now.
Do you know what size slow cooker this is intended for? I have a 1.5 qt and I’m not sure how to modify the recipe.
This would fit in a 5 to 6 quart slow cooker.
LOL. I clicked over from pinterest because I thought, hey, I make a sweet potato chili… 🙂
#whatadork.thanks, Tricia. xoox
Can I freeze this without cooking it??
Hi Jacquie, yes you can freeze it first and then cook it in the crockpot if you prefer.
