Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Cut the butter into the flour with a pastry blender or two forks, until butter is distributed and looks crumbly.
  2. Dissolve the salt into the hot water. Pour the salted water into the flour mixture, stir until all combined.
  3. Divide dough into indicated number of equal balls.
  4. Flour clean surface and roll each ball of dough flat until it is about 8 inches diameter.
  5. Heat a skillet or griddle on high then reduce to medium.
  6. Place rolled dough into skillet. Cook until a few bubbles form then flip.
  7. Allow the other side to cook about one minute.
  8. Stack the completed tortillas on a plate and continue to cook until finished.
  9. Place plastic wrap in between tortillas, and place into plastic bag, store for use on cooking day or use in recipes.

Freeze For Later Cooking Directions

These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).

Why would I want to freeze this?

  9. Place plastic wrap in between tortillas, and place into plastic bag, store for use on cooking day.
  10. Use in recipes or freeze in freezer bags. Place parchment paper between layers to separate easily.
