Hot Dog Croissants - Lunch Version

<p>This is a fairly simple recipe that you might find just about anywhere. But we thought we would tell you how we do it here in the Callahan household. My husband particularly likes these during the summer for a quick and easy meal. The kids will love them too.</p>

  • 8 ounces Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
  • 8 individual Cheddar Cheese, Sharp, Sliced
  • 8 individual Hot Dog

Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Unroll croissants and divide into the perforated triangles. Place on cookie sheet.
  2. On each of the triangles add 1/2 a slice of cheddar cheese.
  3. Place one hot dog on top of the cheese.
  4. Place the other 1/2 of the cheddar cheese slice on top of the hot dog.
  5. Roll the croissant edges around the hot dog.
  6. Place in 350 degree oven for 15 – 18 minutes or until croissants are golden brown.

These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).

Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. Unroll croissants and divide into the perforated triangles. Place on cookie sheet.
  2. On each of the triangles add 1/2 a slice of cheddar cheese.
  3. Place one hot dog on top of the cheese.
  4. Place the other 1/2 of the cheddar cheese slice on top of the hot dog.
  5. Roll the croissant edges around the hot dog.
  6. Place in 350 degree oven for 15 – 18 minutes or until croissants are golden brown.
  7. Flash freeze.
  8. Once frozen, divide among indicated number of freezer bags. Label and freeze.
