Join the discussionThis was very bland even after using apple juice in place of water. Had to add more seasonings especially salt. I also added some cornstarch mixed with water to make a slurry and added to sauce after removing meat to thicken a little.
I read the comments so added chicken broth instead of water. Regular, not low sodium. Dinner was delicious.
Tried it to night used the chicken broth. It was very good. You can taste honey, apple, and the cinnamon. It fell apart and was very tender. I put some of the pot liquor over it and it made it even better. I have tried a Similar Recipe it call for onions and it over powered every thing else. This won was a lot better.
