We've given our traditional Pizza Spirals a little real food makeover! These kid friendly morsels now include lots of nutritious veggies, ground beef and cheddar cheese all wrapped up in a homemade dough.

  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce
  • ¾ cups cook Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
  • ½ teaspoons Oregano, Dried
  • ½ teaspoons Basil, Dried
  • ½ teaspoons Sea Salt

Oven Cook

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. In a skillet, warm olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onions, garlic, carrots, and zucchini. Saute until onions are translucent.
  3. Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Evenly spread pizza sauce over dough, followed by the sauteed vegetable mix, ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, oregano, basil and sea salt.
  5. Roll the dough into a long spiral, then cut into 1” slices.
  6. Place spirals on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake at 350 for 18-20 minutes.

  1. Here was my cheat – have the bread machine make dough for you. I just used the dinner roll dough recipe that came with the machine and let it rise in the machine till double. It is still fresh dough that way, but a whole lot less hands on!
