Join the discussionIs it possible to use liquid ranch dressing instead?
Definitely. If you use liquid ranch, I would cut the water in half. Enjoy!
Great recipe! An alternative to this is using a pork roast and omitting the water. I use a family size can of soup. It shreds nicely and you can serve on top of mash potatoes. It makes a nice sauce. It is so good! I cook it on lox for 6-8 hours and shred it. Depending on the size of the roast it can serve 6 or more.
Love those ideas! Thanks for sharing.
I use the bottle of Ranch Dressing Mix instead of the pouches. How much would i need to use?
You could use about 1/4 cup (more or less according to your taste), and use about half of the list amount of water.
Is the gravy thick or should corn starch be added?
We’ve found the creamed soup makes the gravy to be a great texture. However, if your family prefers a thicker gravy feel free to add some cornstarch at the end.
Do you have any diabetic recipes
Unfortunately, right now we don’t but it’s a request we hear frequently so it’s something we hope to be able to offer in the near future. We appreciate your feedback!
Can you provide a healthier alternative to cream of …. soups?
Make them yourself? π
The Kitchn has a great little recipe for making your own: https://www.thekitchn.com/recipe-diy-crea-16827
When you put a prepped and frozen recipe in the slow cooker, is it still frozen or do you have to defrost it first?
You should always thaw before putting in the slow cooker – especially meat as you could put your meat in a danger zone regarding temperature. Only cook from frozen in the Instant Pot. Hope this helps!
How long would you cook this in it’s frozen state in the Instant Pot?
As far as cooking from frozen, for Instant Pot recipes, we have tested all recipes, and mostly find that it would be the same amount of time to cook from fresh or frozen. (It will take longer to come to pressure when frozen, though!) We do realize that because of different variables (how thick pieces of meat are etc.), others could have a different experience.

If you find that it is not cooked through after the initial time listed, you can simply add a little time at the end. We would rather have you add time than for it to be overcooked ?
Do you use the condensed or regular cream of chicken soup?
It is the condensed cream of chicken soup.
Do you add a can of milk or water to soup or can alone
The ingredients listed for this recipe are:
1 ounce Ranch Dressing Mix
10 Β½ ounces Cream of Chicken Soup
1 ΒΌ cups Water
2 pounds Pork Chops, Boneless
So long as you are following the ingredients as-is, there should be no need to add more water or milk. We hope this helps!
If you double the meat should you double the liquid?
Hi, Mary! You’ll want to double all of the ingredients to double this meal. Adding it to a custom menu, as a member, will do all of this for you. π
I made the recipe exactly according to directions with 2 pounds of pork and I found it to be bland and it was swimming in water. It resembled nothing of gravy.
Sorry to hear this recipe didn’t work out for you! Check the comments – there are a couple of great suggestions!
Two questions:
1. Could you add sliced potatoes and onions to this and have a side dish combined with the email in the crock pot?
2. Has anyone tried this with Fiesta Ranch Dressing (I accidentally grabbed the wrong one?
Thanks
Hello! Adding sliced potatoes and onions sound like a delicious addition to this recipe! Please come back and let us know how it turns out! I think the Fiesta Ranch will just add a bit of tang to the recipe. It won’t be a deal breaker (in my book) just add a bit of a different seasoning – in a good way!
Does anything change if you use bone-in pork chops?
Yes, you might need to cook longer, but just keep you eye on it. So much varies based on the individual slow cooker.
