Slow Cook

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Place chicken, peach jam, and barbecue sauce in slow cooker.
  2. Cook on low for 5.5 hours.
  3. Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred. Place chicken back in the sauce and stir well.
  4. Place chicken back in the sauce and cook 30 more minutes.
  5. Top slider buns with chicken and serve.

  1. Hi Katie, I love the idea of the peach sliders ( peaches are my fav), but my ? For you is….can I substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts? I digest them better, since having a gastric bypass.

    1. Alexis – yes – you could certainly freeze the ingredients in a gallon bag. Then on cooking day, thaw and place into slow cooker.

  2. So I pulled a few of the bags out of the freezer for dinner last night, heated it up in the oven and went to finish a project I had been working on. When I got back the entire meal had been devoured by my boys and there was nothing left, LOL!! They have never done that and are super picky eaters. I mean seriously! One of them I had to put in sensory therapy so he would learn to eat…so no joke here about the picky eater part. I was told they are amazing. I will get to find out for myself tonight, lol!! This definitely makes our Family Favorite list!!
