Join the discussionOh my gosh, this look sooo hearty and delicious! Aaaaaaand I have all the ingredients! SCORE!!!!
This looks and sounds delicious. Planning on making this weekend. Only concern is the calorie count seems extremely high for 8 servings. Can you please check that?
Christy – I did double check and nutritional information is correct. Here is the calculator that we use http://caloriecount.about.com/…
Hi Lisa,That is so funny because that is the same site I use. However, I did notice when I placed the recipe into that sight, it calculated the bean calories as extremely high. I think it calculated them as dry instead of cooked. I did a manual calculation and it is closer to 200 calories.
Forgot to mention I still love the recipe and am making it this weekend.
Are the great northern beans dry or canned?
KJ – I you are using dry beans, you would need to soak over night. This recipe used canned.
I manually entered it into the WW app and it came up as 4 points a serving. I too was wondering why it seemed so high. As Christy said, probably just was the calculation on the beans.
So far, I’ve eaten from the diet menu for 3 weeks and I’m down 7 pounds and all of the food has been wonderful. My kids just loved the creamy chicken crescent roll puffs.
Jina! Congrats on your weight loss! It is easier to stay on track when you have the meals already prepped and you aren’t scrounging at the end of the day! Keep us posted on your progress!
I’m planning on freezing this, then cooking it in my crock pot at a later date. Is the chicken I’m putting into the ziplocs bags raw or already cooked? Thanks!
It would be raw when you put it in the ziploc bags. Enjoy!
Can you cook it in the crockpot then freeze individual portions to microwave later?
Absolutely Catherine!
Had anyone used a pressure cooker or insta-pot to cook this?

If you put in whole chicken breasts instead of diced, will they shred easily after cooked?
Probably but then the flavors of the meal won’t meld as well. I am sure it would work though!
