Stuffed Portobello Pizza

<p>Instead of a pizza with mushrooms, make it a stuffed mushroom pizza! Topped with your favorite sauce, melty mozzarella, fresh peppers and onions, and just enough red pepper flakes to give it a kick this freezer meal recipe gives personal pizzas a fun twist.</p>

  • 8 individual Mushroom, Portobello
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
  • 1 cup dice Bell Pepper, Green
  • 1/3 cups dice Onion
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chop Basil, Fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

  1. Remove mushroom stems and discard. Wipe mushrooms with a clean damp cloth to wash.
  2. Place mushrooms top down in baking pans.
  3. Spoon 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce into each mushroom.
  4. Top with .25 cups mozzarella cheese.
  5. Sprinkle peppers and onions evenly over each mushroom. Season “pizzas” with basil leaves and red pepper.
  6. Place baking pans on the middle rack and broil for 10-15 minutes. (If frozen, this may take a few minutes longer.) Watch carefully as broiler temperatures vary.
