Join the discussionMade this tonight. I used sucanat for the sugar, coconut oil, and fresh ground soft wheat. It is super moist and yummy! Thanks!
Oh that is great! Thanks for those adaptions.
I subbed applesauce for the oil, and I make flax eggs because my son can’t eat eggs. It was great!
O.M.G. these are amazing!!! I did a ton of big batch cooking for a coworker having surgery and made some of these! They are delish!!! My kids devoured the extra!!! Keep the great ideas coming!!
Had everything on hand for these except I only had two apples. I did have a few pears though so I combined the two. Absolutely delicious! These are going to be a lunchbox staple for my kids this year!
What a great addition!
Thanks for the pear tip! We are running low on apples now too but have enough with pears to make this. My afternoon baking plans are set. The kids’ll be happy for their snack boxes the rest of the week. Cheers!
Do you need to peel the apples for this recipe?
It looks like the peels are on the apples in the picture BUT it is all about personal preference. Feel free to peel the apples or leave the peel on according to your taste!
Do you think I could halve this recipe and make it in an electric pressure cooker like the instapot?
We’re unsure of that, Kate as we haven’t tried this out in an IP. If you give it a try, we’d love to hear how it works for you!
