Become a Once A Month Meals Test Kitchen!

Want to be a part of the OAMM process and help us create better meal plans? Maybe one day you can!

I want to be a Once A Month Meals TEST Kitchen!

***Currently all of our test cook positions are filled.  Keep checking back here or let us know that you want to be considered for the future!***

Occasionally we put out a call out to ALL readers to find out if you are interested in being a Once A Month Meals Test Kitchen. If you are you will need to be able to do the following:

  1. Be able to keep the meal plan TOP SECRET until when it is revealed.
  2. Be able to cook the meal plan in it’s entirety.  We send 3-6 recipes that double to 6-12 meals.
  3. For a rare case, you can change ingredients if it is a family preference or allergy. We prefer you not sub in any recipes – we want to get a feel for the doable nature of the meal plan and any glitches made. (We sometimes gift meals to others that our family won’t eat).
  4. Take notes as you go on amounts that were wrong or instructions that needed clarifying. Get notes to us within 48 hours of finishing.
  5. Contact us in an emergency or if you don’t know how to improvise a recipe.
  6. Acknowledge that there WILL be mistakes.
  7. Keep it top secret. (Did we mention that already?)
  8. Feel free to send us any questions before hand.

If you think that you are up for the challenge, we would LOVE to have you on board! We ask everyone who is interested to fill out a brief survey. We then pair up test cooks with meal plans that fit their preferences.

Test cooks who successfully complete the predetermined number of meal plans for us over the months will receive membership benefits. If you have a blog you are welcome to write about your experience AFTER you have tested and the meal plan is made public.

I want to be a Once A Month Meals TEST Kitchen!

We hope you will consider the opportunity! And we look forward to working with many of you!  Keep checking back here or let us know that you want to be considered in the future when we need more test cooks!

*Disclaimer: None of us actually own the kitchen pictured, nor do you get to cook there. But we all can dream, right?

  1. I would LOVE to be a test kitchen. I cook 98% of the time as we try to save money and we want our kids to eat healthy. I’m always trying out new recipes and coming up with our own. A favorite in our house is Bruscheta steak (or chicken or porkchops, whatever we have on hand).

  2. I would love to do this so very badly! But I don’t think I can this year. If you keep doing this maybe in the future I can help out!

  3. What a fun idea! I can’t participate myself right now due to other time constraints but I am happy to spread the word on my blog too. Will do so in the next day or so I hope!

  4. Filled out the survey. Would love to be a test cook. My friends at work can’t wait to hear what is in the freezer each month (the #1 question at lunch is always – was that a freezer meal?).

  5. I would love to be considered for a tester of the diet menus or any other menus you might be in need of.
I am a mothet if three and also have 3 stepkids we will be getting for the summer. So if I can have things planned that would save me alot of time and frustration.Thank you for your consideration.

  6. Such a great idea! I would LOVE to participate! We are always trying to find new ideas to stock our freezer, most of our current menus include your recipes (which are always fabulous!).
Off to fill out the survey now! 🙂

  7. I just posted a survey and Just wanted to add since I am due to have my baby in Sept I would love to try out some recipes so while I’m resting afterwards my husband and others helping will have one less thing to worry about.

  8. I would love to do this and I hope the opportunity will be available next year. This year is really tight financially so it would be hard to spend the $$ to cook something that my family wouldn’t even eat. We like most of your dishes, bur we usually stick with the Mexican dishes.

  9. Pretty sure I got the survey filled out correctly 🙂 I need a push to do this. I’ve done the monthly planning in the past, but have fallen away from it.

  10. I would love to be a test cook for you 🙂 I cook almost every day, and recently started weight watchers so I would love to test the diet recipes. Also, I am a photographer and would be happy to take some photos of the recipes I test, if you want 🙂 Thank you!

  11. This was made for me. We have six kids, and I’m all ways looking for something new!! I love to cook! Most of our family time is spent in our kitchen! I think we have raised at least two cooks!

  12. Fun! Just did my survey 🙂 Thought you should know – on the choosing a month question, the 2nd choice (March) says “cooking between Feb 15 and July 15”

  13. I’m interested in doing the test kitchen but don’t see the survey or where to sign up? all the links on this page seem to point to more info but no signup area.

    1. I’m glad you mentioned that, apparently I linked up the wrong page. {Blush} The links are fixed now. We would love to have you.

  14. I’m wondering if you’re still accepting survey responses? The months of interest indicated on the survey are starting in July but there is no year indicated. Knowing this post was originally made in 2010, I was confused as to which July it’s talking about…Thanks!

  15. I am a home chef who spends half my time experimenting with recipes, creating recipes, cooking for others as guinea pigs. I can make anything; from sushi, Moroccan, croissants to southern fried chicken. I adore cooking with such a passion that my son’s keep trying to hire me out. I do cater upon occasion, but prefer to use family and friends as my critics. I just perfected the cronut after waiting in line in NYC for 5 hours so that I could taste one in order to replicate it with improvements. I would love to be a test cook, as I’m still wondering what all this effort of mine is all about.

  16. As a home chef and caterer, I spend the majority of my time in the kitchen. I use family and friends relentlessly as my guinea pigs, and find this challenge to be right up my veritable alley. I can make absolutely anything.

  17. I love to cook! I am a busy mom who loves to provide good food for my family. I am a go-getter that has decided to want to try or learn new things, so I do it.
Last summer, I learned to can, preserve, and make jams and jellies. I have learned to bake breads, decorate cakes, and try new ingredients that I might have never tried before.
I am a wife, mom, and teacher. We are a busy family with two daughters (10 and 13). We keep busy, but enjoy our family time during and in between our busy times. The school year is always our “busy season” and we enjoy a more relaxing summer. We always make time to enjoy life together!

  18. I would love to be a tester of any of the categories! I’m a stay at home, homeschooling mom so have the ability to schedule things around any testing to be done! I do so love that about our lives! So just let me know what you have to be tested and when and I’m ready!

  19. Hi, I am wondering if you are still running your test kitchen program and if so, can I get information about it.
Thank you and have a great day

    1. Hello! We are still running our test kitchen program but due to the high demand, we aren’t currently accepting applications for new test cooks at this time. Thank you!
