Your Gmail Inbox is Changing- Don’t Lose Your Emails
Earlier this week, I received a notice when I logged into my gmail account that my inbox was changing. I didn’t pay too much attention because a) everything is changing in technology these days and b) usually I like the direction gmail takes when they make changes. However, later that day I was looking for an email that I had seen on my phone and couldn’t find in my inbox. Turns out, it was under the “Promotions” tab. It didn’t take me long to figure out that now I have three different places to look for emails. However, it’s pretty easy to sort out which emails you want to be in your primary inbox. In the picture to the right, I clicked and dragged over an email from Loft to my primary folder (no, not a sponsor and don’t tell my husband). You’ll see in the picture below, it asks if I want future messages from Loft to go to the primary folder as well (I may or may not have clicked yes. Again, between you and me…) You can do this for each of the emails that you get that you DO want to see in your primary folder. You will notice that all of my Once a Month Mom emails are landing there as well so I’m guessing yours will as well. There is also a social folder where things such as your Pinterest emails, Facebook updates, etc will probably be filtered to. I also heard that you can change back to the old inbox for a while through your settings tab. Some people even mentioned they haven’t been moved to the new inbox. Either way though I would guess it’s only a matter of time until this change is permanent. Technology- we love and hate it, right? Now, it’s time for your opinion- do you love the new inbox? Hate it?
