This summer at Blogher I had the privilege of meeting Elizabeth Norton of the Party Planning Professor. We were sitting at lunch just talking about life and blogging when she mentioned that she loved the idea of freezer cooking. And that in her life, she has been so blessed by friends and family members who brought her and her family food when she was suffering through a recent illness. We talked and she agreed to share her thoughts and the meaning of the meals with you. Remember that a meal is not just a meal. It is sometimes a tremendous blessing in disguise to a family. Sometimes it is just fun to bring a family a meal when they least expect it, or don’t “seem” to need it. I know the simple gift of a meal can turn my day into sunshine simply because I don’t have to think something up or make sure I have all of the ingredients. To a family going through a rough time, an illness or a busy season, gifting food can be a God send. One of the reasons I like taking frozen meals is that the family can choose when they eat the meal. Have you thought about gifting some of your Once A Month Meals meals? Is there someone around you that could use a meal tonight? Take a moment to reflect on that. And I will share some things we are doing for others this week as the week progresses. Stay tuned.
