Most of the time I’m really excited about DIY projects, crafts, and homemade gifts–especially at Christmastime. But most of the time I’m not expecting a December baby. Being due anyway day now would probably be the perfect excuse to skip out on neighbor, teacher, and co-worker gifts this year. But a while back a friend told me about a simple gift she had given friends the year she was expecting a December baby, and I’ve had that cute idea filed away in my head in case the time ever seemed appropriate for me to copy her idea. And this is the time! (Don’t worry, this gift doesn’t have anything to do with being pregnant, it’s just a simple idea for anyone who is “busy.” And I’m guessing that applies to most of you Once a Month Moms. Or Dads!) Traditionally the holidays are full of lots and lots (and lots!) of yummy food and goodies, and this DIY gift is no different, except it gives the receiver the chance to save the calories for later on with a silly little diddy: This simple gift took me five minutes to put together. Just download, print*, and trim a sheet of cute (and our FREE gift to you!!) poem gift tags. . . . (*Tip: I do a lot of printing from home, and my best tip for projects where you want crisp, vibrant, true to screen colors is to print on Epson Premium Presentation Matte paper. It’s sturdy like cardstock, but unlike cardstock, the matte paper doesn’t soak up and dull the ink.) Wrap a box of your favorite cookie (or other goodie) mix. . . .
Attach a new kitchen utensil (if desired). . . . And give this “stress-free” gift to your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.
