I love simple gift ideas that the kids can help make. These ornaments are easy enough for a toddler (my son in the pictures just turned 3), but also could be challenging enough for older children. Jaden had lots of decorating these ornaments that will grace our tree this year. Some of them I will package up with some other baked goods to make grandparent gifts.

Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Directions:
In the bowl of a mixer combine butter, corn syrup, and vanilla. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Add 2 cups of sugar and beat until smooth. Add remaining sugar and beat until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. At this point the dough should stick together when pressed. Gather the dough into a ball and knead until smooth. To color dough: Divide dough into smaller balls. Make an indentation in the center and drop a few drops of desired color in center. Carefully knead the dough to distribute the color. To form ornaments: Lightly dust counter with powdered sugar. Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Decorate with sprinkles or candies, pressing them into dough so they stick. Place completed ornaments on waxed paper. Make a hole in the top of each ornament with a toothpick for hanging. Allow to dry for 4 hours, then transfer to wire racks to finish drying (about 24 hours). After the ornaments are dry, carefully thread a ribbon through the hole for hanging.
Freezing Directions:
Not recommended for this recipe.
Servings: Approximately 3 dozen ornaments

Is there a mix and match option I cannot see? Like taking recipes from 1 menu then to another? How would I adjust the quantities, for the recipes I dont want to use. lets say there is 2 I dont want to do. Should I just go to the create on menu option then? Thanks
There is not a mix and match option. We wrote a post that can help you with a work around if you wish: http://onceamonthmom.com/get-s…
