Sprout Baby Food A Month or so ago I was participating in TheMotherhood.com “Dinner For Busy Moms” Talk and ended up winning a month’s supply of Sprout Organic Baby Food! So cool. I was so excited because Tessa was just starting on solids and I hadn’t yet been able to make my own. What better way to help get her started. I decided after receiving them that I needed to share them with you, my readers. No, they didn’t ask me to. No, I’m not getting any compensation for this. I just thought you should know about this product. I really have been impressed. Here is why. First of all, I am a sucker for great packaging. My husband teases me about it all the time, but I just am. I love the cool little reclosable pouch and how nicely they fit into the diaper bag or my purse. AND I don’t have to worry about flimsy lids falling off or jars breaking. They are perfect. Second, I didn’t go to their website and do a bunch of research before writing this post, but if I had to make a guess at what Sprout Organic Baby Food was aiming to do, I would say that I think they are aiming for a satisfying palette and olfactory experience for baby AND mom. Why do I say this? The other day I was feeding Tessa the Sweet Peas and Garden Green Beans. I was half way through feeding her when I was like “oooo, this smells minty.” It just smelled so good. And then I looked on the packaging to read more, and there it was “with a hint of mint.” So I took a taste. Yep, you read that right, I sampled her baby food. Yum! When do you EVER want to sample your baby’s baby food. Right, never! Then today I was feeding her the Oatmeal with Roasted Cinnamon Applesauce and nearly consumed the pouch of food myself. I. AM. NOT. KIDDING. Made me want to make an apple pie right then. I will say that Tessa had trouble with some of the vegetables like Sweet Peas early on when she was just starting out. They weren’t as smooth as “other” baby foods out there on the market for first foods. BUT they are organic which I am guessing is the reasoning for that. I got Tessa past her texture issues by mixing formula in with the Sweet Peas and smoothing it out. She took right to it after that. I know they sell this product in a good many Kroger stores. You might want to check their site to see if there is a retailer near you. If you desire to feed your baby something that is as close to you making it without, you know, having to make it; I would recommend Sprout Organic Baby Food. Tessa likes it! 🙂
