Do you eat Gluten Free? Even if you don’t, chances are you know someone who does. Whether it is by choice to adopt a gluten free lifestyle, or by medical diagnosis of Celiac Disease, many people are now on the hunt for delicious “normal” tasting gluten free products. One struggle for those of us with Celiac Disease or other medical issue that require eliminating gluten from our diets, is the lack of food that can be eaten. Going to the grocery store is sometimes a depressing endeavor. But thanks to Udi’s, doors are opening to what we can have, not what we can’t have. I was recently contacted by Udi’s and they graciously sent many products to for me to sample. My gluten eating husband *may have* seriously chowed down on the SnickerDoodle cookies and ALL of the Ancient Grain Crisps. And my children were truly drop jawed when after they tasted a few of the goodies, I revealed they were in fact gluten free. Apparently gluten free isn’t supposed to taste good? If so, Udi’s didn’t get the memo because every product of theirs I tried blew me away with flavor. Check out how I enjoyed some of Udi’s amazingly delicious products:
I can’t even remember the last time I had a breakfast sandwich, but with Udi’s Bagels in my corner, I knew I couldn’t go wrong! Strawberry shortcake was one of my favorite pre Celiac desserts. Armed with a Double Vanilla Muffin I was able to recreate one of my comfort foods without sacrificing taste. And muffin with hot tea for a mid morning snack? Don’t mind if I do! The Harvest Crunch Muffins were a delight to the taste buds with little bits of cranberries and pepitas. Miss that cake at your office or school birthday party? Keep these little Dark Chocolate Brownie Bites or Double Chocolate Muffins in your freezer, and frost with your favorite GF frosting. Never again will you have to pass on the chocolate cake at a party! Jalapeno Cheddar Ancient Grain Chips are great for a taco salad. Layer with lettuce and your favorite taco meat. Grilled Cheese? How long as it been since you and I last met? Gluten Free bread has always been hit or miss for me. I wasn’t a huge bread person pre Celiac – but every now and then I do crave a sandwich. Fearing the dry, cardboard like texture that I assumed was a GF bread, I was truly elated with the flavor and texture of Udi’s breads! They taste like REAL BREAD! I may have eaten half a loaf in a day, just due to sheer excitement. Now if your mouth isn’t yet watering, I will let you in on another Udi’s secret – they have just announced a line of four frozen meals and from the tastes of the rest of their products, I am certain they will be delicious. Be sure to follow Udi’s on Facebook to keep up with all their newest products, and helpful hints. Also, coming up later this week, I’ll talk more about my journey and diagnosis of Celiac Disease and I would love to hear more about yours! I participated in this program on behalf of Udi’s and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.
