Avocado and Banana Puree (6+ months)

Yield:

8 cubes

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado (peeled and pitted)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 scoop formula
  • water, if needed
  • (or substitute breastmilk for formula)

Directions:

In blender, add avocado, banana, formula.

Puree, adding water  (or breastmilk/formula) until desired consistency is achieved.

Freezing Directions:

Transfer mixture to a non freezer gallon bag.  Cut a small hole in the bottom corner of the bag and use it to pour/squeeze the puree into ice cube trays.  DO NOT OVERFILL.  Only fill each cube to the sides and not overflowing the sides.

Cover each tray with aluminum foil and label.  Freeze for at least 24 hours before dividing among indicated number of quart sized freezer storage bags.

TO SERVE:  Thaw desired number of cubes.  Warm in microwave for 5-10 seconds before serving if desired.

      1. I make this for my son- it’s his favorite thing in the whole world! I couldn’t be happier, avacados are great for babies. I make it in huge batches and freeze it with the rubber cube trays, he goes through it fast. – He is 7 months and 22 pounds

    1. Hi Melisa! We are in the process of updating all of the baby recipes to be a little more specific but in this recipe, the amount will depend on how thin you need the puree to be. I would start off with 1 ounce of breastmilk and then just add a little at a time if you need more.

  1. Sure thing..u blend banana avocado and papaya. .add some milk to make a not too watery consistency. .serve and refrigerate for a day

    1. This recipe is made for 6+ month babies, but we would recommend consulting with your family doctor if you have worries, concerns or are questioning any of the ingredients or recipes we have like this one. 🙂
