Welcome to March!

**This post is part of the Get Real series. Please remember that this is meant as a learning community. We know that many of you are passionate about what you do and we want you to express that, just please do so in a way that will be an encouragement and aid to others making a transition. We want this to be a “safe space” for participants to learn. For that reason, we reserve the right to delete any comments that are not handled in this manner.

Can you see Spring? It’s just around the corner, and so is our next month with Get Real! If you are new to our challenge, please start by pledging your commitment to join us for this month and the rest of the year! Head over to our Facebook Fan Page and click on the Get Pledged app on the left hand side. If you pledged in January and February, you will be receiving an email with information on re-pledging (with minimal information to fill out) for March. We are taking this series seriously and are helping you keep track of where you have been and where you are going! Remember by taking the simple pledge to Get Real, you are entered to win great prizes from our sponsors and guest bloggers!

I’d like to take a moment to thank our guest blogger for February, Jo-Lynne Shane, for guiding us through the tricky world of whole grains. We would also like to thank our sponsor Bread Beckers for their plethora of information on whole grains, their importance in our everyday diets, and not to mention our giveaway prize for this month!

The winner of a grain mill or mixer courtesy of Bread Beckers is:

Janea Sherman – Pledge #198

3,967 Pledged participants in February!

Continuing on the theme of grains, we have dedicated March to pastas! Here at OAMM pasta dishes are a staple and are really quite freezer friendly no matter what folks may say. Our upcoming topics are:
  • noodle basics and types
  • taking a look at store bought brands
  • discussing regular pasta vs. whole wheat pasta
  • making our OWN pasta at home!
Who better to help us this month than Kristen of Dine & Dish. She is a purveyor of pasta! She has some wonderful recipes and tutorials in store for you. I’m really looking forward to hearing more from her!
Once again make sure you get pledged or renew your commitment this month over on our Facebook Fan Page so you can be entered to win your very own Kitchen Aid pasta maker attachment!
You’ve done so great so far, and things are only going to get better and more fun as we start into spring! Let’s get our hands dirty again this month and move into pastas!
Sponsor:  Once A Month Meals – One pledged Get Real participant will be winning some pasta making tools packet. ***This giveaway is now closed.***
