Grateful Giveaways #2: Jakks Fun Toys of Summer

To kick off the summer, I’m excited to once again be part of the Grateful Giveaways group, bringing you 9 awesome giveaways for more summer fun. Watch for a new one every hour on the hour!   1. I didn’t have a big wheel – I had a metal tricycle and a metal pedalled tractor that both belonged to my grandpa when he was a kid 🙂 My best summer memories are of spending days with my great-grandparents and helping them pick fruits and veggies on their farm.

  2. Yep, I had one. It was pink and oh so much fun. I grew up at the beach, all my favorite memories revolve around going to the beach 🙂 My poor kids are stuck in the midwest but I try to make it more fun by going to the pool and occasional vacay’s to the beach.

  3. No I didn’t have a big wheel trike. My favorite memory was running through the sprinkler all summer long.

  10. I remember using my big wheel in my driveway as a kid. I could easily do donuts with it on cement, tons a fun!

  11. I had a big wheel hand me down from my brother with a janky wheel. Living in AZ with 120 degree summers, the big wheel was soon retired and we drove our mom crazy constantly yelling like banchees and play wrestling and the occasional scape from my favorite toy SKIP-it.

  13. No big wheels… though I always wanted a pink one! My favorite memory is when I got my first bike in 1st grade. My Mom set up a treasure hunt and the bike was my treasure.

I had a two wheel bike that I shared with two brothers…of course I get a lot less seat time since I was not allowed to roam the way they did…my own five children all had original big wheels (my husband clipped cards to the wheels…talk about some noise!) and I would LOVE to win this for my grandson…he is definitely ready for a big wheel!

  21. I did have a Big Wheel as a kid. I loved that thing! I fondly remember riding it with my cousins at my grandparents house nearly every Sunday afternoon. We used to have Sunday dinners with the whole family almost every week. Miss those days!

  22. I didn’t have a big wheel because Mom didn’t like them. However I do remember riding on the neighbor boys’ big wheel behind their house. I always liked to ride my bike to the pool in the summer when I was a kid.

  23. No, I was not fortunate enough to have a big wheel bike as a child. My best memories of camping were camping trips. Hiking, biking, fishing, camp fires – loved it, still do and my toddler is already loving it too!

  28. I remember big wheels & loved ripping around the driveway on them. Favorite summer memory is visiting my grandparents & catching fireflies.

  29. I totally had a big wheel loved doing spin outs on it. My favorite memory is how a quiet evening in summer feels when you are a kid and have nothing to think about or do and the fireflies start to come out and the cicadas start their song.

  38. My favorite memory from childhood is playing on our tire swing – my father sold tires for a living so he brought home a gigantic one that could fit a whole herd of kids on it. I realized my first crush there, lost myself in way to many childhood books, stared at the clouds, and took many a good nap.   39. I never had a big wheel, and its one of just a few toys that to this day, I still wish I had owned (cabbage patch doll being the other big one). Thanks for the chance to make it right with my kid! 😉

  40. I never owned a big wheel when I was younger but did ride on the neighbor’s all the time. I was a tom boy growing up so my favorite childhood memories would have to be making mud pies with the boys and throwing them at the girls on the block. Horrible I know this now but hey I was a kid 🙂

  42. I didn’t have a Big Wheel but my brother did. My younger brother chased down a bully that was bothering my older brother. He chased him down the street in his Big Wheel. And now he’s a cop. LOL

  53. I did not have one, but my cousins did, and I played with them whenever we went there! My favorite summer memory would be all the time we spent at my mom’s friend’s lake house. It wasn’t what you’d normally think of, a regular house at the lake, it was a bare-bones place. Only one room had air conditioning, there was only one small bathroom, and it was a crappy place at best. A lot of times we would sleep in a tent outside. Even as crappy as the house was, it was a blast to be out there!

  54. I loved my big wheel it was pink and light blue with white wheels. my brothers had a red yellow and black one. we were the coolest kids on the block because we were the only ones to have them!! loved hearing us roar down the sidewalks!

My favorite Summer memory of childhood is probably a tie between the annual beach trips we took (and still take now with kids of my own) with my Dad’s side of the family. The other favorite memory is playing kickball with other kids in the neighborhood in the cul-de-sac in front of my parents’ house. What great memories!
